Trailhead Fit + Suspension Setup

A calm, trail-based setup session to help your bike feel coherent — comfortable, controlled, and predictable.

“Can we get this bike feeling right — for how and where I actually ride?”

Real terrain. Measured changes. One adjustment at a time. No hype, no rushing, no “magic settings.”

  • Fixed-price session (by booking)
  • One primary bike per session
  • Trailhead + short repeatable trail sections
  • Fit fundamentals + suspension baseline
  • Notes provided so you can repeat the setup

What This Is:

This is a practical trail-based setup session focused on two things: fit fundamentals and suspension baseline.

We use real terrain and repeatable trail sections to validate changes. The aim is not perfection — it’s a stable, sensible setup you can trust and understand.

The goal is clarity and confidence, not endless tweaking.

What This Is Not:

To keep this grounded and useful, there are clear boundaries.

This service does not include:

  • Biomechanical fitting or medical advice
  • Race optimisation or performance guarantees
  • Workshop servicing, teardown, or repairs
  • Electronic suspension diagnostics beyond basic setup
  • Unlimited follow-up sessions or ongoing coaching

If you suspect a mechanical issue (e.g. air loss, creaks, binding pivots), that’s a workshop job first. Setup can’t solve broken hardware.

What We Cover:

1) Fit Fundamentals (Comfort + Control)

  • Saddle height and position (where relevant)
  • Bar height and reach
  • Lever position and cockpit comfort
  • Weight distribution (front/rear balance)

Fit basics matter because suspension can’t feel right if your position is fighting the bike.

2) Suspension Baseline (Understanding + Range)

  • Sag and air pressure for your weight and style
  • Rebound within a usable range
  • Compression settings where applicable
  • One change at a time, validated on the same trail section

The aim is to get you into a stable window — not chase someone else’s settings.

How It Works:

1. Pre-Session Inputs

  • Your bike model and key components (fork/shock)
  • Your height, weight (with riding gear), and riding style
  • Where you ride and what currently feels “off”

2. Baseline Setup

We start with sensible fundamentals: pressures, sag, rebound, and cockpit comfort. No complicated spreadsheets — just a clean baseline.

3. Trail Validation

We ride short repeatable sections, pause, make a single change, and repeat. This keeps cause-and-effect clear.

4. Lock In A “Known Good” Window

You’ll finish with settings you understand and can replicate. If the bike still feels wrong, we identify whether the issue is setup, fit, or mismatch.

What You’ll Get:

A Coherent Baseline

Comfort-first fit fundamentals + suspension set into a stable range.

Your “Known Good” Ranges

Not a single magic number — a usable window you can return to.

Simple Notes You Can Reuse

Pressures, sag, rebound, and the key observations that guided choices.

A Clear Next Step (If Needed)

If setup isn’t the issue, you’ll know what is — without guessing.

The outcome should feel obvious on trail: calmer, more controlled, less confusing.

Location & Availability:

This service runs in two modes: local Adelaide sessions, and route-based sessions when we’re on our SA, VIC, NSW, and SEQ loop.

Adelaide Metro (bookable)

  • Sessions run at nominated Adelaide trail networks (see booking for the current list)
  • Trail choice is confirmed after checkout based on terrain suitability and timing
  • We use repeatable sections, so not every network is appropriate

Outside Metro / On a Route (request-first)

  • Sessions may be available when delivery or travel aligns with a confirmed run
  • We’ll confirm feasibility based on location, timing window, and trail suitability
  • If it doesn’t align, we’ll tell you plainly — no vague maybes

If you have a preferred network, include it in your request — we’ll confirm if it’s suitable.

Boundaries (So The Session Stays Useful):

  • One bike per session unless explicitly scoped otherwise
  • We focus on fundamentals first, not complex edge-case tuning
  • If a mechanical fault is suspected, we stop and recommend a workshop first
  • This is a setup session — not ongoing coaching or a retainer

These boundaries keep the outcome clean: a baseline you can trust.

Pricing & Payment:

Adelaide Metro bookings

Adelaide sessions are booked and paid directly on site (click below). Once you’ve booked, we confirm the trail network and a practical time window by email.

Outside metro / route sessions

Outside metro sessions are request-first. If your request aligns with our location and schedule, we’ll confirm options and provide a booking link.

No promises of outcomes — just a clear process, careful changes, and a baseline you can repeat.

Book or Request:

Choose the path that matches where you are. Both routes use the same short intake so we can confirm the right trail and approach.

If you’re not sure which applies, use the request option — we’ll point you to the right place.

FAQs:

Do I need to service my suspension first?

If your fork or shock has clear mechanical issues (air loss, sticky travel, obvious knocks/leaks), get it serviced first. A setup session can’t solve worn seals or broken hardware.

Is this a coaching session?

No. This is about bike feel and setup fundamentals. We may make small practical suggestions that affect comfort and control (e.g. lever position), but this is not a skills clinic or ongoing coaching.

How long does a session take?

Most sessions run around 60–90 minutes, depending on the bike, the trail, and what needs changing. We don’t rush, and we don’t keep tweaking once the setup is clearly in a good window.

Can we do two bikes?

Standard sessions cover one primary bike. If you need two bikes assessed (e.g. your bike + a partner’s), request it and we’ll confirm feasibility and scope.

Will you give me “the perfect settings”?

You’ll leave with a known-good range you understand and can return to — not a single magic number. The point is stability, repeatability, and clarity on what changes actually do.
